Code Name Verity

by Elizabeth Wein

I was having kind of a dry spell finding good books this summer and then Katie recommended this one.

This book is full of twists and turns so I’ll just tell you this. You are introduced to a spy by her confessions to the Nazis. She journals her story and we learn about her friendship with a female pilot and their adventures.

The characters are intense and real and flawed and courageous and beautiful. This was a book I could not put down and left me wanting more. It was written well and was in turns funny and tragic. I highly recommend you check it out.
